Don't feel that you need to be actually present for all sessions. They will be recorded and you're encouraged to download to view them any time at your leisure.

Don't see the answer to your question? Feel free to write me and ask.

What happens if I can't attend a session?

Why, nothing at all. We all have our own adult schedules and sometimes things unexpected come up. Each session is recorded.  Once recorded it will be posted on our class web page. Click on the link to the Zoom recording and you will be able to view the entire session at a time more convenient for you.

Will I be able to view the recordings once the class is over?

Absolutely! The recordings will be left up and available to you through the end of March. but better yet – why not just download them and save them to view whenever you like? Just click on the link you'll find on our class web page for Zoom recordings, search for the download option and you're on your way!

Do I need a password to view or download the recordings?

Yes, although your computer may save it once you typed it in the first time. The password for this class, whenever you may need one, is BAM-2023

Is there a supply list? Should I be preparing anything ahead of time?

If you've been able to access this page, you should be signed up and all set. You'll be receiving an email letting you know when your set of supplies have been shipped, if you haven't already, beginning January second. In it, you will find an abundance of supplies to take care of your class needs. Anything not included will be a common household item. The one thing you will need do, is let John know which of the images on the class page you would like to have printed out for you. Check under Select Your Design for further instructions.

Are these canned instructions or will I be able to interact directly with John?

Each session is a live broadcast at the appointed time, 2:00–4:00 in the afternoon, Mountain Time. I've prepared a whole series of vid-clips for the class. These are pre-recorded but only so you won't have to sit through a pot boiling or paste drying. video taping in this manner also allows me to take close ups to show details you would never be able to see in an in-person class. It also allows me to pull a Julia Childs maneuver, that is, pull the perfectly finished piece out of the oven without the wait time. There will be plenty of time for questions before and after each session.

How will I be able to acquire more supplies once the class is over?

A great deal of what you've been sent will continue to be of use. Many of the consumable items are ingredients you will be able to buy at your grocery, hardware, or feed store.  For anything else, your welcome to visit my web page at

I carry a full range of traditional tools and supplies and if I don't have it, I'll be happy to help you find it.

Will there be some way to continue my studies if I really take to this?

Of course! I teach a full range of courses on line. Just visit my web page at

If you'd like to be notified of new programs as they are scheduled, I recommend signing up for my newsletter. A range of other Japanese textile and culturally related topics are often included. Sign up here.
