The cones shown on this page come in 10,000 meter (10,936) lengths. It is comparable in thickness to Coats & Clark’s cotton/poly sewing machine thread, or Kreinik’s #3 002J metallics. The thicknesses do vary a bit. I have had people who specialize in machine embroidery use these with success, although they are designed for use in weaving and hand embroidery.

I purchased these from a very reputable weaving house in Kyoto through a bankruptcy sale, which is how I am able to offer them at such a low price.

Inventory is limited. Once I’ve sold out, I doubt that I will be able to acquire more.

The gold threads come in a range of shades based on the naturally occurring impurities, much like Black Hills gold, as shown in the samples above.

The gold cones come in 10,000-meter lengths, weighing in at about 250 grams. Variations in weight are due to slightly different thicknesses in the threads.

The gold on this cone has been wrapped a bit more loosely when compared to the samples at the top of this page, giving it a lively sparkle.
